Why paper still earns its keep
A desk calendar holds a spot on someone's desk for twelve months, usually for a couple of dollars a unit — few promotional items buy that much attention per dollar. A holiday card gets opened and stood up on a shelf. A presentation folder puts your brand in the room before you say anything. These are pieces clients keep because they're useful, not because they're clever.
Order calendars and holiday cards early
Q4 paper is the tightest season in the industry. Calendars and holiday cards run against a deadline that does not move — a calendar delivered in January is worth a fraction of one delivered in November. Start artwork in late summer for a comfortable run; by October you are working around press schedules and paying for it in freight.
Imprint area and decoration
On most calendars the price includes a one-color imprint in the ad area at the bottom — commonly around 5" wide by 1" high, which holds a logo, a phone number and a URL, but not a paragraph. Beyond that, 4-color process, foil stamping, embossing and hot stamping are available across most lines. Send vector artwork if you have it and we'll confirm what fits before you commit.
